For the past 26 years, local churches and organizations have come together to serve Thanksgiving dinners to senior citizens, the disabled and low income individuals of Texas City, LaMarque, & Hitchcock. Last year 200 volunteers helped serve 550 families.
This year’s dinner will be held at Kukral hall at Our Lady of Fatima School located at 1600 9th Avenue North in Texas City on Thursday, November 24th. Dinner will be served for dine-in from 11am to 1pm.
We will be collecting uncooked turkeys weighing 12 to 14 pounds between November 4th thru November 8th (our goal is 100!). We also need aluminum pans, styrofoam food containers, plates, plastic cups, party packs, canned chicken broth, cranberry sauce and other items for our dinner.
We also need volunteers on Thanksgiving Day.
Anything your company or organization can donate to help with our Community Thanksgiving Feast, be it actual supplies, turkeys, or funds to purchase supplies would be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be made payable to Mainland Communities United Way with the notation “Community Thanksgiving Feast.”
